wonderful place to stop for a drink or a bite to eat and watch the world go by. The pub underwent a major refurbishment under the previous ownership (2011-2017) of George and Alison Scott-Welsh. In July 2017, the pub was leased to Rob Dawson who now runs the pub with the help of his son Tom. Rob, who worked at the pub as head Chef for five years under George and Alison, brings a lot of experience gained over 40 years in the pub and restaurant trade. Along the way, he earned his employers the Good Pub Guide’s Seafood Pub of the Year and the AA’s Pub of Great Britain. Before his move to the Maltsters, he spent 10 years running the Kings Arms in Strete, repeating his earlier success with a spot in the UK’s 100 Best Restaurants and a star in the Egon Ronay Guide - ‘This is wonderful cooking; accurate, assured, done with love and reverence for the ingredients’ was the Egon Ronay commendation. Rob is still busy in the kitchen helping out head chef


Ross Savva, and often shares kitchen duties with Tom although the latter generally leads the front of house team. Rob‘s main speciality is fish and he has created a mouth watering and imaginative menu, merged with many options to please all. Whilst he and his staff serve


beautiful fish dishes, they also serve many ‘pub classics’ and other meat and vegetarian dishes to please all customers. The pub opens for breakfast (served till 10.30am) and


coffee from 8.30am. Lunch is served every day from 12 – 2.30pm and dinner from 6 – 9pm (9.30pm on Fridays and Saturdays). On Sundays, food is served all day from 12-7pm. You can dine in their restaurant overlooking Bow
