Whilst many of us are enjoying our Christmas break there will be a dedicated team of community actors practising lines, dances and songs ready to entertain the crowds in this year’s Dartmouth pantomime – Aladdin. Steph Woolvin met with up-and-coming star, Terri-Kate Lee….

undreds of people flock to the Flavel each year to watch some panto action care of the Dartmouth Players. This year it’s Aladdin. A show that’s


promising dazzling special effects, fun, laughs, and a flying magic carpet of course! With around 20 people on stage it’s the largest annual live theatre event in Dartmouth. One of the new stars this year is 16-year- old Terri-Kate Lee who’s playing Princess Luli. Terri-Kate, who lives in Paignton, has been singing and acting since she was seven and has performed in London, Bristol, Paris and at the Princess Theatre Torquay. “I’ve always wanted to sing. One of my earliest memories is standing on the dining room table performing for my family,” she says with a twinkle in her eye. Terri–Kate has blossomed in the world of performing arts appearing in many plays and musicals. In May this


year she was awarded ‘Most Promising Female Singer 2018’ at the South West of England Music Festival. She hardly has a minute to herself, as she is studying at Sixth Form alongside a packed schedule of extra- curricular activities. She plays the piano, flute and is currently studying for her Grade 7 singing exam as well as being a member of Stagecoach Performing Arts, Torbay School of Dance and the Castle School of Dancing. When she isn’t at music lessons or acting classes Terri-Kate attends Torquay Grammar School for Girls and is currently working towards her French, German and History A Level exams. “In an ideal world I would love to play a leading role in a West End stage show like Wicked but I want to do well at school so I have something to fall back on. I’d like to have a gap year then go to Exeter University to do languages and
