Crowdfunding Supporting Sport Locally Involved in Sport ? Need Funds ? we can help ....
Wiltshire and Swindon Sport (WASP) has launched a new innovative funding scheme for the benefit of those playing and involved in sport in Wiltshire and Swindon.
In association with Podium Partners, WASP want to help local young and disabled people to develop their potential. By offering the opportunity for schools, organisations, clubs and athletes to promote their campaigns on the crowdfunding website and social networks enables them to raise funds by bringing their project to the attention of the wider public and businesses.
The campaign can be for:
Clothing Equipment and facility hire Coaching and specialist workshops Training and competition costs
Overnight accommodation whilst competing
Travel to and from venues Physio treatment fees
In fact pretty much any costs incurred by young athletes on their journey towards their sporting goals. All we ask is that they compete in a sport recognised by Sport England and that they are part of an appropriately constituted club.
We have 12 campaigns covering 10 different sports from all over the county waiting to reap the benefits of the Crowdfunding platform. They range from Cheerleading to Ice-skating and they hope to raise from as little as £500 to £10,000 for their sporting needs. You to could benefit from the power of the crowd and their on line donations, which together with Gift Aid will boost every £10 raised to become £12.50.
It’s that simple and a real opportunity to support sport locally.

Rugby Tour to Argentina and Brazil a trip to remember
During the summer of 2015, 5 members of staff at Bishop Wordsworth’s School took 40 boys to Argentina and Brazil on the latest rugby tour. The trip took almost 2 years to plan and the result was a truly memorable 17 days. It began with 4 matches in the first week, in which the 1stXV won 2 out of 3 of their games. These were gruelling matches played in a manner completely different to the style of rugby played here, but thoroughly enjoyable to watch. We stayed
with hosts of the opposition clubs during this first week and this was one of the highlights of the tour as the families were warm and welcoming to us in what was a daunting (at first) situation.
Once the rugby was finished relaxation and entertainment were top priority. We spent 2 days in Iguazu, visiting both the Argentinian and Brazilian side of the waterfalls. The views were absolutely breath-taking and this was
Tour rio
reflected in the constant ‘clicking’ and ‘flashing’ of cameras as we appreciated the beauty of the scenery. Just as we’d began to settle into our surroundings in Iguazu, we were flying to Rio de Janeiro for the final 4 days of the tour. In just 96 hours we managed to visit the famous tourist sites of Christ The Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain, enjoyed the beaches at Copacabana and Ipanema, and ate at one of the smartest restaurants in the city for our final group dinner. To say it was simply a fantastic trip doesn’t do it justice as a tour. For many of us, this will be one of our final memories of our time at Bishop’s and what an unforgettable experience to mark the end of our time here.
