High footfall and sales growth for The Mailbox
The Mailbox is celebrating significant growth in footfall and sales following a raft of new openings. Sales for the last six months of 2017 were up by
a total of 15 per cent year on year. With the new 20,000 sq ft home furnishings
offer opening in October, the Mailbox estate is now 95 per cent let, while footfall on Level 1 has increased by 40 per cent year on year and 59 per cent during retail trading hours. Footfall across the centre for the six months to
December 2017 was up by 11 per cent during trading hours, compared to a five per cent decline for Birmingham city centre over the same period and a decline in retail footfall nationally. Footfall at the Mailbox is now
approaching six million per year. The home furnishings offering has been spearheaded by
MADE.COM and Heal’s and featuring Bo Concept, Calligaris, The Design Quarter and Wesley Barrell. Ribble, the British manufacturer of

high quality bicycles, opened its first permanent retail store at the Mailbox in early 2017 and has exceed expectations in its first year. Harvey Nichols, having opened its
new store in 2015, has enjoyed double digit sales growth year on year. New openings in 2018 are set to include kitchen designers Harvey Jones.
