West Midlands mayor Andy Street is certainly doing his best to get around the region and meet people. Not only is the mayor the guest speaker at a Chamber event in September, when he will review his tenure and outline future plans, it’s now possible to meet him in cyberspace. That’s all thanks to a new interactive chat
page developed by engagement experts Novoville. By clicking on a link, local residents will be taken to an interactive chat accessed from one of the popular applications people use daily, such as Facebook Messenger. The first conversation is on homelessness and
aims to give people a quick and easy way to add their voice without having to attend a meeting or fill in a long survey.
‘The more people who give their views, the better we can collectively improve services.’
All of the results will be made anonymous and
then provided to those people and organisations that make key decisions on homelessness across the region. Alex Tupper, from Novoville, said: “This
approach has worked well elsewhere in a range of other topic areas such as education, health and taxation. So it’s exciting to launch in the West Midlands and help residents engage with decision makers in an easy and responsive way.” Mr Street said: “We are really happy to be engaging residents through this new approach. The more people who give their views, the better we can collectively improve services.” Go to
