‘Tremendous effort’ as Chamber smashes through 3,000 mark
Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC) has recruited its 3,000 member company after increasing growth by 12 per cent over the past year. The impressive growth reflects
an outstanding year across the 10 divisions of the GBCC. Future Faces, the young
professionals’ arm, has grown by nearly an incredible 100 per cent in 12 months, while membership of the Sutton Coldfield Chamber increased by 21 per cent. Furthermore, over 10,000
delegates attended events across the GBCC network in the last year. There has also been a spike in
the Chamber group’s digital audience, with social media followers growing by 175 per cent to 86,336. The ChamberlinkDaily news
bulletin goes out to around 15,000 businesses and individuals every morning with stories and pictures relevant to the business community. And this July/August edition of Chamberlink contains a
record-equalling 80 pages, proof of its appeal as an advertising vehicle on top of its extensive editorial coverage of business issues. Add to that the GBCC’s website -
which annually has 700,000 pages views - it means the Chamber provides businesses with an extensive suite of editorial and advertising opportunities. Chief executive Paul Faulkner
said: “This reflects a tremendous effort by the whole of the Chamber especially the membership team. We recognise that it is vital to offer services that businesses expect in order to support and help them succeed. “We are equipped to offer a
wide range of services, locally, regionally and across the globe and look forward to continuing our membership growth and so expanding our influence across Greater Birmingham and beyond. “This is an exciting time for the
Chamber. Our membership continues to grow and we have now passed the 3,000 mark. We’re
3,000 not out: Chamber chief executive Paul Faulkner with membership team representatives
looking forward to continuing our growth and working with more and more businesses in the future. “The appeal of our digital channels is also widening, making this an exciting time to be involved in business in the Greater Birmingham region and the Chamber is well positioned to help businesses of all sizes make the most of the opportunities that are out there.”
