Meeting helps develop
tech links with Indonesia Making links between Birmingham and Indonesia was at the top of the agenda in a meeting between Enterprise Europe Network’s Amerdeep Mangat, business advisor, Sunny Claire, business advisor, Sri Kumala Chandra, EU outreach manager and Nur Rakhman Setyoko, trade commercial attache for Indonesia. The meeting discussed how the region and
the country can work together, to provide technological solutions to the fast growing economy that lives in Indonesia. The country is the world’s 10th largest economy, has the world’s fourth most populous country and is the second fastest growing G20 member state. Sri Kumala Chandra, EU outreach manager,
said: “Indonesia is a huge country and we have a lot of natural resources, however we don’t have the technology to exploit this technology to its full potential.
‘In Birmingham there are a lot of interesting companies that we can work with’
“That’s why the EU built this programme, to
help companies who focus on innovation and technology to come to Indonesia and share their innovation and technology with us. “In Birmingham there are a lot of interesting
companies that we can work with. From hospitality to healthcare to medical devices, building and construction, these are really interesting companies we would like to come to Indonesia.” Nur Rakhman Setyoko, trade commercial
attache, said: “There are complementary aspects and services between the UK and Indonesia, especially with Birmingham. “The UK is able to provide the technology
needed to help Indonesia grow, and in the future Indonesia could provide products to the UK which would provide mutual benefits for both countries to expand and grow together.” Enterprise Europe Network is hosting a trade
trip to Indonesia in the autumn. To find out more, please contact Alex Lamle on 0121 607 1797.
