403A-11G Engines designed for extremes

2018 is an exciting year for Perkins as the company releases its broader range of engines, designed to meet the comprehensive needs of all key sectors in the EP market. This includes the ultra-compact Perkins® 403A-11G and the 4008-30TAG, a ‘powerhouse for electricity generation’ and now available with an improved service life, reports WIP.

T

revor Toulson, Perkins director of sales and distribu- tion for EAME &

CIS and Perkins EP business strategy told WIP. “You will find our engines throughout the world delivering the power you need when you need it. This ranges from hotels to hospitals, in frozen wastelands or expansive deserts or within rental equipment at construction sites. Our products put power in place where there is no other source, in remote locations throughout the world.” Featured at the Middle East Electricity (MEE) 2018 in March 2018 were three new additions to an already extensive Perkins engine range: the new 7-litre 1206, 9.3-litre 1706 and 18-litre 2806 engines. Each is designed to deliver high power density with reduced operating costs and market-leading

performance, all from a reduced package size. Also on display was the ultra- compact Perkins® 403A-11G. The Perkins 403 range of elec- tric power (EP) engines delivers the same compact benefits of its 2-cylinder stablemate, but takes a stride forward in terms of noise, refinement and power. The 3-cylinder range offers excellent power density and superb fuel economy and has been designed to meet the power generation needs of both unregulated territories where extreme conditions are likely, and higher regulated territories with more stringent emissions standards.

Worldwide Independent Power Power April 2018 The other new offering - the

Perkins® 4008-30TAG - described as a ‘’powerhouse for electricity generation’ now comes with a 3 times improvement in tapping setting intervals (from 500-1500 hours) and 2 times improvement in cylinder head life from 7,500 - 15,000 hours. The 8-cylinder Perkins ®

4008 range features diesel ElectropaK engines/Electro units which deliver 1000-1250 kVA and are supplied with or without radiator and air

cleaner. This engine has proven reliability in prime and standby installations in all of the key sectors, such as manufacturing, hospitals, and data centres. The 4008 engines are said to have ‘exceptional’ power-to-weight ratios and compact designs, making them simple to transport and install. Breakthrough aftermarket

offerings this year have included the advanced Perkins® SmartCap and the Perkins® My Engine App. www.perkins.com
