products, Scania engines have been delivered to some remote parts of the world. A FOGO generator powered by a 16-litre V8 engine from Scania is currently being used by a customer in Pointe-Noire, the second largest city in the Re- public of the Congo (also known as Congo-Brazzaville). The city is situated on a headland between Pointe- Noire Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Pointe-Noire is the main commercial centre of the country and has a population of 729,000, expanding to well over 1 million once the entire metropolitan area is taken into account. Recently, the Government
has proposed the development of a new bulk resource port to be constructed at Point Indienne, 30 kilometres to the north of the Port of Pointe- Noire. Pointe-Noire is currently the
key centre of the oil industry of the Republic of Congo, one of the main oil producers in Central Africa.

Congolese oil has been produced by the French com- pany Elf Aquitaine since its dis- covery around 1980. At Pointe-Noire, the FOGO
generator is being used for an offshore platform. FOGO also supplied a power

Yekaterinburg/ Ekaterinburg is the fourth-largest city in Russia and the administrative center of Sverdlovsk Oblast, located on the Iset River east of the Ural Mountains, in the mid- dle of the Eurasian continent, on the border of Europe and Asia.
