Cockermouth Chiropody/Podiatry Ltd has received the prestigious accreditation award from the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists.
For the practice to have been accredited by the Society of Chiropodists and
Podiatrists, I reviewed our standards to ensure that they comply with national standards and ‘best practice’ within the profession.
I applied for practice accreditation, so that our patients know that their care is being provided within a safe environment. The accreditation scheme amongst other things also requires that:

VOLUNTARY SOCIAL CAR SCHEME NEW CO-ORDINATOR REQUIRED
We are looking to recruit a new volunteer Co-ordinator to take over from Jules Forkes, who had to step down due to work commitments.
Jules has done a fantastic job taking care of transport in the Cockermouth area over the last year overseeing more than 650 trips.
If you feel able to help and enjoy speaking to people and have good organisation skills, please get in touch with Katy on 0333 240 69 65 (option 5) or 07788 396 194 for an informal chat. All expenses are reimbursed.

• All re-usable instruments to be properly cleaned and sterilised before use
• Staff engage in continuing
professional development to keep their knowledge and skills up-to-date
• Patient confidentiality to be respected and proper care taken with patient records, both when used and later when they are destroyed
• We explain treatment options, where appropriate and cost, so that you can
make an informed choice as to the treatment you receive
• Appropriate referral pathways exist for clients who need specialist care
• Our practice working methods are constantly reviewed.
In achieving accredited status, we not only undertook a careful review of the practice and asked another registered podiatrist to check our findings, but we also agreed to the practice being inspected by independent inspectors appointed by the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists.
We therefore feel that you can be confident in the care that you receive.
I am also relieved to announce that, following a public consultation, Allerdale Borough Council Planning Committee made a unanimous decision to approve formalised planning permission for my practice to continue working from my home at 20 Laithwaite Close, CA13 0AQ.
