KEEPING YOU IN TOUCH - YOUR FREE MONTHLY NEWSPAPER DELIVERED DOOR-TO-DOOR FOR 31 YEARS Well done All Saints’ Nursery children!

The Nursery children at All Saints’ Primary School went on a fascinating walk to look for signs of Spring as an opener to the Spring topic. The weather was fantastic and they had a lovely time finding lots of buds on the trees.

The children noticed that the buds varied in size and colour and that one of the buds was even sticky. They saw lots of beautiful Spring flowers; snowdrops, crocuses and daffodils and were even lucky enough to see a red squirrel eating some fir cones! The children were very enthusiastic about the walk and were identifying lots of signs of Spring themselves by the end of the walk. Of course the walk couldn’t have taken place without the help and support from parents and grandparents, who accompanied us on the visit, and we are very grateful to

them for their support.

The walk was used as an opportunity to further develop the children’s gross motor skills, which are vitally important to the development of fine motor skills, which in turn enables the children to write as they begin and progress through their school life. As part of this the children visited the local park on our way back to Nursery, and they were also able to let off some steam!

The class then returned to the Nursery for a well-earned rest and some snacks. The children were very well behaved on the walk and the Nursery staff were proud to be out with them.
