L’pool Regt.’ ribbed rifles pattern chin chain standard rosette side ornaments spike and quadrant, original leather sweat band with attached red silk lining named to F.H.Harris; together with an associated standard pattern carrying tin, minor stitching fault to the silk liner otherwise in exceptional condition. The silver cheroot case is hall marked Chester 1890 by ‘J.M.B.’, the lid is engraved with the badge and title of the regiment and as follows ‘Presented to Captn. F.H.Harris by Non-Comm Officers & Men on attaining his command of A Comp. 5th (Irish) V.B.K. L.R. Feb. 1905’, very good condition (3)

LEICESTERSHIRE RIFLE VOLUNTEERSOFFICER’S GREEN CLOTH HELMET C. 1878 - 1883, a very fine and scarce example with rounded front peak and complete with all plated fittings, the frontal plate of crowned star pattern with laurel overlays enclosing a title circle ‘Leicestershire Rifle Volunteers’, in the centre on a ground of black patent leather a plated strung bugle horn, the plate is original to the helmet and supplied by ‘Hobson & Sons, London’, buff leather sweat band, the helmet also has an official lined ventilation circle behind the helmet plate, very good overall condition
