BUSINESS REPORT NEW HOME
FOR NEWGEN NewGen IT, a company which specialises in offering outsourced IT support to businesses, has moved to larger premises in Irchester following a year of massive growth. Last year NewGen IT won
several new contracts and recruited three new employees, meaning it quickly outgrew its serviced office space in Wellingborough. Sales director Suraj Dholakia
said: “We’ve gone from a room in a business centre that could fit four people to our own 700 sq ft open plan office that can accommodate 16 people. This will enable us to grow further and to offer more to our clients, such as on-site training.” Technical director and
founder Stephen Souch added: “This is our fifth year in business and particularly over the last 12 months we’ve grown in terms of clients, staff and reputation. We needed an office that better reflected the business we are today and would provide us with the facilities to upscale further.”
ANNIVERSARY IS THE TIME TO LOOK TO THE FUTURE
A geotechnical and geo- environmental is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Towcester-based Listers
Geotechnical Consultants Ltd was set up in 1992 to provide ground investigation services throughout the UK and marked last year’s landmark anniversary with a celebration in February. Originally the firm had four
partners, a laboratory technician and a site technician, but by 2000 three of the partners had gone and Dr Mark Cowley became the owner and principal of the company. By 2017 the
company had been incorporated and Dr Cowley had become the managing director supported by nearly 30 staff. Dr Cowley said: “We pride

investigations and expert witness services. “We are
successful because we value our
workforce and have a very low staff turnover. “We treat our clients with high
levels of integrity and aim for the highest technical standards in order to save our clients’ money. “We are looking at further
expansion as we move forward but will ensure that we retain the close support that we offer to our staff and clients.” After 37 years in the industry Dr
Cowley plans to take a step back from the everyday running of the business this year. The firm has been restructured to
enable Dr Cowley to become chairman of the company and his current deputy, Ian Evetts, will then become managing director.
