BHP bolsters its team with 20 new recruits


Chartered accountants BHP has reinforced its commitment to training the next generation of accountants by recruiting 20 apprentices, graduates and placement students to work across five departments. Lisa Leighton, Partner at BHP,

New partner at Nelsons Solicitors’ Derby office


Specialist professional negligence solicitor Daniel Brumpton (pictured) has joined the Derby office of Nelsons Solicitors as a partner. With more than 13 years’


experience, Daniel adds a wealth of expertise to the expanding dispute resolution team following his move from a Manchester-based law firm. He said: “I am thrilled to have

Historic promotion for Amanda Wright

Sarah Temperton takes on NLT Chief Executive role


East Midlands-based training provider NLT Training Services has appointed Sarah Temperton as Chief Executive. Sarah was formerly at the Chamber, where she was Head of Training, responsible for leading the Chamber’s training arm. Sarah, who lives in Chesterfield, takes over the Chief


Executive role from Simon Marsden, former Vice Chair of the NLT Board, who was appointed to the role in the interim earlier this year. He now moves into business development and finance project roles within the organisation. With 30 years’ experience of working with an independent provider of work-based learning, Sarah will now head up NLT’s commercial and Apprenticeship training offering across Derbyshire, South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. She has qualifications in Leadership and Management to


Level 5 and is also a non-executive director and Chair of The Derbyshire Network of Training Providers, a not-for-profit membership organisation which works with employers, colleges and training providers, across the East Midlands, Sheffield City Region and further afield to share knowledge and expertise to drive up standards of training. Sarah said: “I am delighted to join NLT. The organisation


has the potential to be a significant player in the skills arena. I am committed to growing the company’s Apprenticeship delivery and creating an organisation that companies choose first for all their commercial engineering training needs. “I have enjoyed a long career in the field of training.


Working with, leading, and influencing people to develop and support them in their careers is a passion which I look forward to developing further with NLT.”


Dave appointed as RSM director


Audit, tax and consulting firm RSM has appointed Dave Graham as a new business development director for the Midlands. Dave, who will be based at RSM’s


Leicester office, in Grove Park, joins RSM from PKF Cooper Parry in Derbyshire. Prior to that, he spent 15 years at Natwest in the East Midlands, initially working in corporate and commercial banking roles before becoming Business Development Director in 2010. In his new role for RSM, Dave will


work on building relationships with middle market businesses across the Birmingham, Leicester and Nottingham markets. Mark Taylor, RSM’s Regional Managing Partner, said: “With a strong background in corporate and commercial banking, Dave is well placed to understand the opportunities and challenges facing local businesses. He is also well known across the region’s business community and has an extensive network of contacts. I’m delighted to be able to welcome Dave to the RSM team and I am sure he will be a great asset to us and our clients.” His appointment follows a
