Trips Northern Illinois Food Bank RS
Northern Illinois Food Bank partners with 800 feeding programs across 13 counties to serve our neighbors needing food. It is the source of nutritious food, innovative feeding programs, and hope for many. Much of the donated food needs to be inspected, sorted and packaged before it’s distributed. Activities may vary based on need. Before our volunteer shift from 1 – 4 pm, enjoy lunch on your own at The Country House. Trip includes transportation option, donation, and volunteer opportunity. Minimum age to volunteer is 8 years old.

Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor The Wizard of Oz RS
A young farm girl named Dorothy is caught in a twister that carries her over the rainbow and into the Land of Oz. There she meets a scarecrow with no brain, a tin man with no heart and a lion with no courage. Together they embark down the yellow brick road to meet the Wizard, destroy the Wicked Witch of the West, and find a way home. This classic tale is presented in a way that will make you fall in love with the Land of Oz all over again. CYT Chicago productions star students ages 8-18 and are fully imagined and staged productions for the whole family. The show starts at 11:45 am. If driving on own, please meet at the Batavia Fine Arts Center lobby at 11:30 am. Lunch on your own after the show at Denny’s. Trip includes ticket and transportation option.

Dreamcoat RS The meteoric first collaboration of Tim Rice & Andrew Lloyd Webber, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is on stage at Drury Lane. Join Israel’s favorite son, Joseph, through his tumultuous ascent to the top in this timeless reminder of the unquenchable thirst of a man with a dream who had the courage to forge the destiny of a people and its powerful message of hope. The classic story of Joseph is paired with exuberant music, featuring favorites such as “Close Every Door,” “Go, Go, Go Joseph” and “Any Dream Will Do.” Before the show you can enjoy a delicious luncheon with your choice of 1) Bistro Steak with Bordelaise Sauce or 2) Lake Trout with Citrus Caper Sauce or 3) a vegetarian option. Both include soup, mashed potatoes, vegetable, dessert, and beverage. Trip includes transportation, luncheon, and show.
