This class will teach you all aspects of portrait drawing. Different mediums will be explored. It’s helpful to draw some unfamiliar faces as a good practice before you jump into drawing the face of a relative or friend. Learning ‘how to’ is very important before moving onto familiar subjects.

Beginner Independent Study RS Adult Basic Drawing RS
This class will take students who are serious about learning the many different techniques of drawing and help them to either improve their skill level or help them get started. Class will cover perspective, composition, vanishing points, shading, lighting and other techniques. The use of different pencils as well as color pastel chalks will be covered.

Make It, Take It Oil Painting RS
Students will compete their very own oil painting in 3hrs! Depending on the subject matter, paintings are usually 12x16, however, sizes may vary. A fun class that lets you leave with a very nice oil painting. Paintings may be framed on-site immediately after finishing them!

Try your hand at painting & drawing in a friendly, casual group setting. This class will introduce you to the basics & you will walk away with a beautiful painting and the skills to create many more on your own! You will learn how to recognize & create good composition, how to create depth and how to convey emotion through lighting. There will be a $15 supply fee for each class. Students are required to purchase canvas if painting or a sketch pad, drawing pencils and kneaded eraser for drawing. Bring a roll of paper towels.

Students in this class will start at the very beginning, first learning the basic principles of shapes and figure drawings. Class will also cover shading, lighting, proportions and many other techniques and principles of figure drawing.
