ART & LITERATURE


WITHYBED POETS are a group of poetry writers who meet in Withybed Green to share their poems and write together. They are open to anyone who enjoys writing and sharing poetry. They love reading their poems to audiences, which they do at the monthly Acoustic Roots in Alvechurch, but also for libraries, church- es, community groups and festivals. WORDS, THE Bromsgrove group which promotes interest in the written and spoken word, presents an evening with award-win- ning journalist and writer Lucy Mangan on Sun Sep 24, at 7.30pm in The Studio at Artrix. Lucy, a Guardian columnist, feature-writer and reviewer who also writes a weekly column for Stylist magazine and has written several books about family life, will discuss her writing and her feminist approach. FORGE MILL Embroidery & Textile Group are friendly, vibrant and creative. They meet at Beoley Village Hall on Friday mornings to explore and develop mod- ern and traditional textile techniques. They hold workshops to share skills and experiment with a range of media
