Wildlife photographs on display at lecture
BROMSGROVE PHOTOGRAPHIC Society starts its new season with a visit from a world-renowned pho- tographer. On Thurs Sep 21, award- winning wildlife and nature photog- rapher Des Ong will deliver the Bill
Chambers Memorial Lecture (named after a leading light of the society for many years). Born in the tropics, Des grew up with a firm interest in nature. Five years ago he turned professional, and has been travelling and photo- graphing wildlife across the globe. Des will share some of his projects,
giving some insights into his ap- proach and techniques, and will an- swer questions from the audience. The ticket-only lecture takes place

LICENSED TO Rhyme, the monthly poetry night run by local poets Giovanni ‘Spoz’ Esposito and Maggie Doyle, celebrates its first birthday with a final event at Bromsgrove’s Artrix on Sep 11, before moving to a new, secret location in Barnt Green! All will be revealed on the night – the show starts at 7.30 and tickets are £5 (free for under-18s).
TARDEBIGGE FAIR & Show takes place on Sat Sept 9 from 1.30pm, held in and around Tardebigge Church, School and Community Hall. The church hosts the Produce Show which includes flowers, plants, vegetables, preserves, baking, photographs and more. Anyone can en- ter; just bring entries to the church before 11am on the day. FINSTALL’S ANNUAL Village Show takes place on Sat Sept 2 at the village hall, with classes for vegetables, fruit, bak- ing (including jams and chutneys), floral arrangements, crafts, photography and art. Stalls, teas, tombola and raffle, out- side games (weather permitting) from 1pm, and produce auction at the end. Donations of surplus produce welcome!
