ALVECHURCH’S well-known skiffle band, The 6-5 Specials, has a new CD out, with all proceeds going to Alzheimer’s Research. CDs cost £5 and can be purchased at 15 Tanyard Lane. The band tell us that Daz Hale of BBC WM wants


them to go on his show to talk about it – apparently he bought their first CD last year and loved it!


A GOOD CAUSE: Cynthia Lawton of the Alvechurch Knit & Natter group presents a cheque for £100 to Penny Church, who is fundraising for Brain Tumour Research in memory of her son Finlay. ing a Christmas Fair at Alvechurch Cricket Club and a village raffle, both in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society. Cynthia will shortly be visiting local businesses to ask for their sup- port in the raffle, and selling tickets ahead of the draw in December.
