WELL DONATES OVER £2K TO KEEP SCOTLAND BEAUTIFUL

NATIONAL PHARMACY CHAIN, WELL, HAS DONATED IN EXCESS OF £2,000 FROM THE PROCEEDS OF ITS CARRIER BAG SALES THROUGHOUT 2016 TO KEEP SCOTLAND BEAUTIFUL.

The entirety of the five-pence charge minus VAT has been donated to the charity, which works to campaign and educate on a range of local, national and global issues.

Well’s donation of £2,258 will help to change behaviour and improve the quality of people’s lives and places throughout Scotland.

The donation has been accumulated from every Well pharmacy in Scotland, with all proceeds donated to the charity.

‘It’s an honour to partner with Keep Scotland Beautiful and donate this significant sum of money, which will be used to campaign,

protect and restore the Scottish countryside,’ said David Hamilton, Commercial Director at Well.

‘Reducing environmental impact has always been high on our agenda and so we’re delighted that the profits from carrier bag sales are able to go towards such a good cause.’

‘Keep Scotland Beautiful was delighted to receive a donation from Well Pharmacy from the proceeds of its customers’ five-pence bag charge,’ added Catherine Gee, Corporate Sales Director at Keep Scotland Beautiful. ‘We will be able to use the donation to support our work to help communities take action to make Scotland become cleaner, greener and more sustainable. As our activities are estimated to make a difference to one in five people living in Scotland, we hope that Well customers will experience the benefits in the places they care for.’

PERTHSHIRE PHARMACY SOLD

TO LOCAL GROUP OPERATOR Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has brokered the sale of Comrie Dispensary in Crieff, Perthshire to a large multiple operator.

Alison Henry, who owned the pharmacy for 40 years, managed to sell the business within eight weeks of it being put on the market through Christie & Co.

‘We were delighted to be able to offer specialist market advice to help Alison with her plans to exit the business,’ said Karl Clezy, Director at

Christie & Co who handled the sale.

‘With the pharmacy having been on the market previously with another agent, Christie & Co was pleased to take over the marketing of the business and introduce several operators to the opportunity. In the end, we were pleased to have attracted eight offers and the sale price agreed was higher than originally expected.

‘We wish both Alison and the new owner all the best for the future.’
