TOURNAMENT OVERVIEW

Broadstone FC First Mini-Soccer Tournament For the fi rst time, Broadstone FC hosted our own Mini-Soccer Tournament. Over 50 teams across the county took part, between the age groups Under 6s to Under 11s. It was a great day and the weather was very kind to us. Thanks to those who helped support the event!

Here is a selection of how the youth teams have got on at various tournaments over the summer...

Under 7s

After a successful fi rst season of league football for the Under 7s, they entered the Summer Tournament season with great confi dence. At the time of going to print, the boys had entered eight teams into various tournaments. Playing great football they found their way to two quarter fi nals, three semi-fi nals and a fi nal.

that were not particularly summery. We got off to a good start with a victory in our fi rst game, but lost to a last minute winner in the second game. We suffered another defeat, then got our passing game back together to fi nish the last two games with a draw and a victory. Unfortunately, we just missed out on progressing to the knock-out stages.

This year saw Broadstone FC organise our fi rst ever tournament, and the U9s supported this by sending two teams to the event, the Broadstone Rockets and the Broadstone Jets. The two teams were drawn in separate groups, and played some great football to both fi nish 3rd in their respective groups. This meant that the two Broadstone teams were drawn against each other in the 3rd place fi nal, and with bragging rights at stake it was a very close fi nal, with the Rockets emerging victorious with a 1-0 win.

The U9s are now looking forward to a few weeks off before we start the new season in September.

Under 10s

The Under 10s have entered three tournaments this summer, doing the Lytchett, Dorset FA and Broadstone tournament. The team performed best in the Lytchett tournament, where they progressed from the group stages by one goal! Unfortunately, we then lost on penalties in the semi-fi nal.

The fi nal came at the Dorset FA tournament, where they were very unfortunate to lose in the fi nal. With one more tournament to play they are hoping to fi nish the summer with a winners medal. Great football boys and roll on next season!

Under 9s

After a successful end to the season, the Broadstone U9s sent a team to the Lytchett & Upton Red Triangles summer tournament. This was a six-a-side tournament played on small pitches, in conditions

Broadstone FC U13s 2017/18 season (school Year 8 from September 2017) requires players for the new season as we step up to 11-a-side.
