Welcome to the August issue

What a great Family Fun Day the Broadstone Fields in Trust Association put on in July (pg6) – congratulations to all involved! I know an awful lot of work goes into the planning and organisation of such large community events and they help make Broadstone such a lovely place to live. Coming up next, the Broadstone Horticultural Society and Art Society have their summer shows this month (pg74).

Another annual event we all look forward to is the Christmas Parade and Christmas Lights. The Broadstone Chamber of Trade & Commerce is urgently looking for sponsors of the lights this year (pg10), so please get in touch if you can help.

Broadstone Youth Club is also urgently looking for support as it would like to run some additional evenings starting in the Autumn term. Do get in touch with Vikki if you have a couple of hours to spare (pg32).

Don’t know what to do with your old Tassimo discs, deodorant cans or cleaning bottle triggers? Drop them off at Broadstone Library during the ‘Win on Waste’ group’s next session (pg12). It is a great way of supporting local good causes, while reducing the waste that goes to landfill.

Welcome to a new advertiser in the Broadstone Link this month: A+ Supplies (pg5) offers unique wall and floor tiles. Holm Tree Garden Services returns (pg15) along with beauty and massage therapist Debbie Baxter (pg52) and also South Coast Windows (pg59).

There are a number of new classes starting in September. Tony is offering Tai Chi, yoga and

meditation (pg25), Tracy from Rainbow Hypnotherapy is offering a course of mindfulness sessions (pg27), adult swimming lessons are available at The Junction (pg29), and Jean’s dance fitness for over 50s and Tracy’s pilates classes are advertised on page 71.

Until next time, Karen
