Churches Together in Broadstone
Churches Together in Broadstone invites you to come along to any of the services or events we hold. You can be assured of a friendly welcome at any time.
Dear Friends and Neighbours
Once again this year, Churches Together in Broadstone enjoyed being part of all the community activities at the Broadstone Fun Day. We enjoyed meeting so many friends, new and old, at our activities.
As the summer continues we hope everyone has time to relax and enjoy time together with friends and families and perhaps do something different.
If you are holidaying at home, perhaps come and join us at one of our events which will be happening in our local churches. At Broadstone United Reformed Church we are holding a ‘Holiday at Home Week’ from Monday 14th August, when there will be activities for all ages in the church hall and gardens from 10.30am each day.
Whatever you do and wherever you go, may you all have a wonderful summer.

poole-stanthony@prcdtr.org.uk St John’s Church Development Project:
St John’s Church in Broadstone recently sold the under-used Waterloo Christian Centre in Milne Road, Poole for much needed local housing development. We plan to use the proceeds to develop the north side of our church onto Dunyeats Road, which is currently rather
dark and unwelcoming.
Currently, most people access the church from the south side via Macaulay Road, which is not a main thoroughfare. We want to develop a community space which is welcoming, open to all and very much visible from Dunyeats Road. We also wanted to improve community access and use of the green space surrounding the church, so the grounds will be sympathetically landscaped and enhanced as part of the project.
We have now engaged a local architect to develop plans for us, so are able to share with you a taster of what it may look like...

You will note the open and welcoming nature of the building, which complements the existing structure. At the time of writing we are going through the planning approval process with Poole Borough Council and also the Church of England authorities. More up-to-date information can be found on our website:

We are in the process of sharing our plans with the local community, so we’d love to hear from you. If you would like to ask questions or wish to provide feedback on our plans, email northreach@
stjohnschurchbroadstone.org.uk or you can call into the Parish Offi ce in Macaulay Road.
