Springdale First School News The Summer term has proved to be a very


enjoyable term for us. Our Springdale Summer Sizzler event (pictured right) was an enormous success. It was a pleasure to see so many members of the wider community, as well as those currently associated with the school, relaxing and having a wonderful time. Music from the band ‘Blame George,’ and the harmony singing group, ‘The Sodapops’ really added to the atmosphere as we celebrated 50 years of Springdale. Children greatly enjoyed entertainment from Jamie Jigsaw as well as the many other activities available. The event was fabulous, but did entail a great deal of organisation and hard work so we are indebted to all those who made it possible.


Our Leavers’ Assembly has been another opportunity to celebrate and recall the last 50 years, not only at Springdale but in the world. The children put on a wonderful performance, which was entertaining, interesting and moving and through which they showcased their many talents. They are well prepared for a bright future and we are sure they will all enjoy many successes.


As the term draws to a close, the school will be sad to say goodbye to two long standing members of staff, Mrs Lazarides and Mrs Becher, who will be retiring. They have shown great commitment and dedication to the school over many years and will be greatly missed. We wish them a long and happy retirement with the opportunity to do everything that they wish.
