Six-figure boost for technology firm

A leading Nottingham technology company has secured a six-figure investment to further develop its pioneering software. Solutions for Retail Brands

(S4RB) received the capital boost from the N2 Business Growth Programme, delivered in partnership by The University of Nottingham and East Midlands Business Ltd and part-funded by the Regional Growth Fund and the European Regional Development Fund. Established just over a decade

ago, S4RB creates and manages solutions for retailers to improve relationships with their own label suppliers and customers. The funding will be used to drive forward its Unified Brand Experience (UBX) Cloud Services software, which enables retailers to work as one team with their suppliers and continually develop their products. S4RB’s Managing Director James

Butcher said: “Nottingham has a thriving technology community thanks to the high number of tech firms and outstanding education facilities. It is always rewarding to receive local recognition, and the team is really excited about taking our product forward.”

The panel of agents answer questions during the day’s Q&A session MIA puts agents in the spotlight

Venues and event organisers have had the chance to quiz agents and build better connections at the Meetings Industry Association (MIA)’s biannual Agents Day. Taking place in Leicestershire, the sell-out event

was attended by 100 event professionals from across the country.

‘Our agents days are our most popular and best-attended events’

The day started with an interactive Q&A session,

giving guests the chance to put their questions to the panel of agents. Over lunch, agents circulated to meet with as many

venue representatives as possible, before moving on to the afternoon’s team building activity, which saw delegates take part in the soap box racing challenge, gathering materials to build their cars before taking part in a time-trial race.

Sian Sayward, who sat on the panel for the Q&A,

said: “While I always find the MIA agents days a key diary date, I thought this session was the best yet. I enjoyed being involved in the panel session and found that, although I was there to answer questions, I also gained valuable insight from the other agents involved, all of which I can take back to the business. “The format of the networking lunch enabled me to

speak to a number of different venues and talk about the issues and challenges they face and how we can support them. Finishing the day with team building helped reinforce the message that agents and venues really are better off working together.” Jane Longhurst, Chief Executive of MIA, added:

“Our agents days are our most popular and best- attended events and this event was no exception. The day provided an excellent opportunity for venues and agents to network and discuss potential future partnerships and the MIA is proud to help facilitate that for its members.”
