1 JUST

ADD WATER

Have your participants discovered these super-concentrated fruit drinks? If water has had purification tablets added, it can sometimes taste strange and could put young people off keeping their hydration levels up. Available in all supermarkets for around £1.50, a few squirts in a litre water bottle will make it taste great. A lightweight, 50ml bottle will make around 30 mugs of juice.

BEST FOOT FORWARD

Living Streets, the UK charity for everyday walking, is urging the public to ‘Try20’ during National Walking Month this May. The campaign encourages people to walk for 20 minutes every day throughout May and observe the big differences small steps can make. Living Streets recommends walking as a free, easy and fun way to improve your health. Find out more about the campaign at livingstreets. org.uk/nwm.

2 GETTING

INTERACTIVE 4 GETTING THE BEST VIEW

Here’s a neat web tool which will help bring alive to participants the correlation between contours and other map features and reality. It splits the screen in half – on the left is an Ordnance Survey map; on the right is the Google Earth equivalent, which updates in real- time as you move around the map and zoom in. Great for training and checking out drop-off points easily! wtp2.appspot.com/wheresthepath.htm
