he number of bugs and issues reported in the system was lower last year than ever before and I’m confident that it will be lower again this year. The year has got off to a flying start with several exciting new changes already deployed – and we have plenty more things planned for the rest of the year.
We kicked off proceedings with the deployment of ten minor developments which included new features such as: • Telling Leaders that a participant hasn’t completed their Gold Award Presentation form and, therefore, the last section of a Gold Award cannot be approved.
• Making activity change requests more clear so that you can see what information is new and what is old.
This was followed closely by a re-vamped version of the Assessors Report portal –
DofE.org/assessors. The new system now sends an email to the Assessor once the report has been successfully accepted by eDofE so that they have a copy of the report for their records.
The new version will also now allow reports to be submitted if a participant hasn’t entered their aims and objectives or if the account has been archived.

eDofE UPDATE T
2016 was another record breaking year for eDofE and Chris Armstrong is delighted to report that the number of users of the system continues to grow.
Migration
For quite some time now we have been working hard to migrate and integrate all of your training details so that they are stored in eDofE. In February, we successfully added all of the training records into eDofE so account holders should be able to see a history of DofE training courses that you have attended. If you think that something is missing from your training record, please contact the Licensed Organisation or DofE office that delivered the course to enquire further, providing evidence of the course attended and the dates – usually in the form of an attendance certificate.
For more information about training please see the article on page 8.
We have also re-worked the expedition set-up screens in eDofE to make this process easier for
Issue 27: SUMMER 2017 DofE Magazine
We have also taken the opportunity to review our processes on the eDofE support desk and we have introduced a new system to better manage and record queries that we receive.
Some of you will have noticed the small purple support button in the bottom right hand corner of the screen on eDofE. This allows users to search our new eDofE Knowledge Base (which has an ever-increasing number of help articles, user guides and FAQs). Please let us know if you have any ideas for new content or if there are questions that come up regularly that you would like us to include. It is also possible to send a message to the eDofE support desk directly through this system if you are having an issue.
