update Important information from the Charity Staff changes

There have been some staffing movements at the DofE recently: • We welcome Jenni Anderson to the role of Fundraising Director, following the departure of Jacqui Larcombe.

• Peter Singleton has moved from the South West Region to become Director for the South East, filling the vacancy left by the retirement of Christian Scott.

• Heather Thompson has taken over as Director for the South West Region.

Wally Keay

The DofE is sad to report the passing of Wally Keay in December. Wally was a prominent figure in the expedition world and was an invaluable source of advice and expertise which helped develop the DofE’s Expedition section over 20 years. Wally also created a major edition of the DofE’s highly regarded Expedition Guide.

eDofE expedition set up

We recently made some changes to the way expeditions are set up in eDofE. The changes are based on feedback from the DofE network and are designed to make the expedition set up process easier for adults and participants. Resources outlining what’s changed and why, along with a user guide, are available within eDofE.

Cumbria Assessor Network

The Cumbria Assessor Network is one of the busiest networks for DofE with over 2,000 Gold assessments in 2016. Cumbria is considered one of the most beautiful regions in the country and we have a fantastic team of Network Assessors available to support Gold expeditions. The Assessors have many years’ experience assessing in the Lake District and offer a truly independent assessment as required for the Gold Award. Further details can be found on DofE.org/cumbria. If you would be interested in having the Network assess your Gold expedition, please contact kate.worrall@DofE.org.
