Max Steel returns for second season


FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment and Mattel have announced a second season of Max Steel. The second season will contain 26×30-minute episodes,


bringing the total number of episodes available to 52. The fi rst season of Max Steel is currently launching around the world, and FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment has secured additional sales to major markets including the UK (Nickelodeon), Germany (Nickelodeon), Australia (Channel 9), New Zealand (TV4), Canada (Teletoon), Benelux (Disney XD), Singapore (Mediacorps OKTV), Belgium (VMMA), Greece (Star), Israel (Noga) and the Philippines (ABS-CBN). Cast announced for TMNT fi lm


The four actors who will play the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in a new movie version have been revealed. Pete Ploszek will play Leonardo, while Hunger Games actor Alan Ritchson will be Raphael. Noel Fisher is to play Michaelangelo, and Jeremy Howard will play Donatello. The TMNT reboot, due in 2014, is being produced by


Transformers director Michael Bay and directed by Jonathan Liebesman, who previously made Battle: Los Angeles and Wrath of the Titans. The fi lm is live action, while the turtles are expected to be


created using a combination of motion capture and CGI. Megan Fox has been announced as the movie’s female lead, journalist April O’Neill.


Disney’s The Hive is in Hamleys London with a window display to celebrate the launch of Mookie Toys’ new playsets. Mookie Toys’


window display is on show for six weeks from its March 26th launch.

coincided with an in-store launch on Saturday April 6th, which included appearances from the show’s main characters, and a real bee hive and bee keeper. Speaking of the launch, Guy Orr, director of Mookie Toys, said: “With the window debuting at Easter, the timing is perfect. Lots of families visit Hamleys which should create further excitement with the playsets among all our Hive fans. We have every confi dence that the fantastic range of playsets will literally ‘fl y’ of the shelves, as initial feedback has been fantastic. We have been told that Buzzbee and Rubee are extremely excited to meet some of their little Hive fans on the day.”

Mike the Knight gets second season


HIT Entertainment and Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana have greenlit a second season of the pre-school TV show Mike the Knight. The second season, comprising 52x12-minute episodes, is in production and is set to begin delivery to broadcasters in late Spring 2013. The series will be produced jointly by HIT Entertainment in London, UK and Nelvana Studio in Toronto, Canada. Treehouse in Canada, CBeebies in the UK, and Nick Jr in the US, have committed to air


Season 2 of Mike the Knight starting in May in Canada, this Summer in the UK and later in the Autumn in the US. The fi rst season debuted to high acclaim and viewership, and to date, it has been sold to 27 broadcasters in 112 territories around the world. Edward Catchpole, senior vice president HIT Brands at HIT Entertainment, said:
