Geomagworld appoints new UK distributor
Geomagworld has appointed First Celtic Toys and
Learning as its new UK and Eire retail distributor.
First Celtic Toys and Learning is best known for its subsidiary, Tolo Toys Learning, which develops and distributes educational products worldwide, as well as distributing the Tolo and Wedgits brands to the UK and Eire toy retail market. Geomagworld SA is well known for its award-winning magnetic construction toys, comprising of magnetic rods and metal spheres. Jan Nielsen, director of Tolo Toys
Learning, said: “We will launch Kor Geomag, a new range, later this year, which will expand

Increased grants available for UK exhibitors at Nuremberg
PattExpo, the UK offi ce of the Nuremberg Toy Fair, has announced that increased UKTI grants will be available for UK exhibitors at 2014’s show. UK companies exhibiting at 2014’s Nuremberg Toy Fair are eligible to
receive an increased grant from the UKTI of £1,500 per fi rm, as opposed to the £1,000 received previously. Additionally, the UKTI has provided a grant to the Birmingham Chamber of

Nick Baker to front My Living World marketing initiative
TV celebrity and nature expert Nick Baker has been enlisted to help raise awareness of Interplay’s My Living World range of nature study kits in schools. Nick was instrumental in the
development of the collection and is now actively promoting them in a new marketing initiative to schools. A competition will run in national schools newspaper, First News, giving children an opportunity to win a visit from Nick Baker to their school. He will give them a nature study lesson, with tales of his many adventures and his infectious knowledge of the natural world.
Schools across the UK will be invited to enter the campaign which will run
throughout the Summer term. Ross Ainsworth, managing director, Interplay, commented: “We are delighted to have Nick on board with this campaign as we feel he is the ideal person to truly engage the core audience of the My Living World collection. Nick is already an ambassador for the range, and the winning school will greatly benefi t from his visit.” The My Living World First News campaign launched on 5th April and will run until July 2013.
Registration for BTHA charity golf day opens
BTHA President Clive Jones invites members of the toy industry to register for the 2013 BTHA Toy Trust Golf Day. The BTHA Open Golf Tournament for 2013 will be played at Sonning Golf Club in Berkshire on Thursday 13th June 2013. There will be a competition both in the morning and the afternoon; there will also be the usual array of prizes for the longest drive, nearest the pin, etc, and a charity auction for the Toy Trust in the evening. Entry for 36 holes plus full English breakfast, lunch, dinner and prizes is
£90. Entry for 18 holes plus lunch, dinner and prizes is £75. The tournament is open to anyone who is involved in the toy industry, be
they retailers, suppliers, wholesalers, manufacturers, importers, suppliers to suppliers, licensors, accountants and solicitors. The numbers are restricted to around 96 participants so if you would like to play, please let Clive know as soon as possible at
