12:30 Family Fun at The Festival

In case you were wondering whether they might be anything for children to do at the festival this year …… On Thursday 27th

we’ll hold our dedicated Children’s Festival. Local schools will come into town to

learn about healthy eating, farming, fishing and lots more. At 4:30 we’ll have our Tasting Tea Party; children are welcome to come and taste lots of new things, enjoy a demonstration and other enter- tainment. Under 10s should bring a well behaved adult along.

As well as lots to taste at the markets and plenty of demos to watch, there will also be a Family Area in Royal Avenue Gardens courtesy of Coast and Country Cottages and Café Alf Resco. This will include apple bobbing, pumpkin carving, biscuit decorating and more. There will also be a chance to win a great family prize.

Alf’s are also organising a Food Festival Quiz which will run throughout the Festival. Pick one up from them in Avenue Gardens. No doubt a great prize will be lavished on the winner.

Dartmouth Steam Railway and Riverboat Company will host the ‘1st Class Lounge’, an area for rest and recuperation straight from the Golden Age of Steam. Fun for kids and a moment’s calm for adults on South Embankment.

Also on the Embankment you’ll find our Marine Education area with plenty of interactive things to do for young and old alike.

On Saturday 27th at 9:30 we have ‘Get Up And Cook’ with our Children’s Cooking Champion, award winning writer and teacher Alex Mackay, will host a lively hour of cooking with guest chefs for children and families. Inspiring and full of tips and ideas this session is free of charge and no booking is required.
