WHICH FLOOR FOR YOUR HEALTH & FITNESS CLUB?

Careful consideration should be given to choosing the right floor surfaces for your health and fitness facility. There is a process to specifying a floor, and the finish can vastly affect brand perception among your customers

W

e have witnessed a dynamic change in the consumer profile of health and fitness

members over the last 25 years or so. Now encompassing an ageing population, and with over 52 per cent of UK members now female, we have seen fitness machines and exercise classes evolve to satisfy the needs of these customers by offering ‘softer’ activities. But what other considerations can be given to our customers? Where do your customers shop?

The fl ooring was given a lot of thought: Yates didn’t want carpet tiles and the budget would not extend to oak fl oors. ‘Creation Luxury Vinyl Tile’ (LVT) was the perfect option. “The fl oor offered the look and feel of expensive timber and assured Leisure Connection of the durability expected for our busy and vibrant clubs up and down the country,” explains Yates. “Muir Oak and a darker wood were installed in a two-tone design to great effect, helping to communicate a high-end offer to our members.” Gerfl or is positioned to deliver

a complete fl ooring solution to the modern health and fi tness facility, ensuring consistency and brand retention as well as fulfi lling the creativity of designers and operators. Offering fl ooring ranges that both look
