thomson.co.uk) has acquired the Aphrodite Hills Resort which will be sold as part
of its fl agship Sensatori portfolio. Attractions: Limassol’s €500-million marina (
limassolmarina.com), waterfront dining, shopping and leisure complex opened in June. The development coincides with the pedestrianisation of the old town, opening of the Carob Mill restaurant quarter (
carobmill-restaurants.com) and upgrading of the prom. In Larnaca the Piale Pasha promenade has been
completed. Connecting Foinikoudes promenade with Mckenzie beach, a trendy bar and restaurant hot spot, the promenade includes a pedestrian path and cycle lane. Softades and Armenou beaches, in the Larnaca area, have both been upgraded with better facilities including showers. On the cultural scene the AG Leventis Gallery

public display. Sport: The Tony Jacklin-designed 18-hole course has opened at Secret Valley (

Platres in the foothills of the Troodos Mountains. A €1.5-million project has created fi ve marine
parks, containing scuttled fi shing vessels, to encourage the growth and protection of marine life. The sites are open to recreational divers and fi shing is banned.
