Its design causes it to effectively push the wood onto the concrete,” explains Jonas. ESSVE’s new hardened sill plate screw is produced for mounting of 45mm – 50mm thick sill/frame beams onto concrete. The surface treatment handles Climate Class 2, which is the requirement for mounting in unheated, under roof, spaces. The screw can be mounted directly in a pre-drilled hole without a plug, and its countersunk head does not restrict the mounting position of wood studs/beams.

Sika AG has acquired Klebag Chemie AG, a manufacturer of adhesives for the sealing, bonding and flooring markets. The takeover strengthens Sika’s position in the Swiss interior finishing sector. Last financial year, Klebag generated net sales of CHF 12 million (9.9 million euros).
