St. Petersburg to host Fastener Fair Russia 2015

longside its traditional shipbuilding prowess, the St. Petersburg area is now acknowledged as a major centre for automotive production. Ford, General Motors, Hyundai, Nissan and Toyota are among global companies that have established vehicle manufacturing plants there, and output of new cars is scheduled to reach over 1 million annually by 2018. The region is also experiencing strong growth in emerging sectors including aerospace, optical, IT, electronics and environmental industries.

As a consequence, demand for fasteners and fixings is set to grow significantly. Olivia Griscelli, exhibition director at Mack Brooks Exhibitions, said: “We believe that locating Fastener Fair Russia 2015 at the heart of such an important manufacturing region, and in a brand new venue, will provide a great opportunity for fastener and fixing systems suppliers to present their products to these key market sectors.” Organised by Restec-Brooks, a joint venture between Mack Brooks Exhibitions and its Russian partner Restec Exhibition Company, this will be the country’s third Fastener Fair show. Managers, engineers and buyers from 205 cities and 25 countries visited the most recent event, held in Moscow in May this year. The show in Moscow attracted 121 leading companies from 19 countries. Participants included German firms Dresselhaus Gmbh & Co – supplier of screws and fastening parts, and E.U.R.O Tec – showcasing fasteners for the construction industry, while from Italy bolts and screws supplier Ambrovit Srl and rivet specialist SARIV Srl took part. Clamping products were presented by Murray Corporation from the US and Turkish firm Tork Auto, and major Russian companies such as Severstal-hardware and MMK-hardware also had stands at the show. products in Russia were brought into sharp focus by Boris Yarantsev, general director of Prommetiz Association of hardware producers, speaking during a Round Table session at the show. “The import of metalwork to Russia is insignificant at present – it is around 12% of the total figure. ooth spaces have been sold to companies throughout the USA and 16 other countries including Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, India, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Turkey, the UK and Czech Republic. “We are anticipating a complete sell out of the 800+ booths and it will definitely be our largest Expo ever held in Las Vegas. We’re also expecting a large turnout of buyers,” said Susan Hurley, general manager.
