New adhesive cures as low as 60°C
DELO Industrial Adhesives has developed the DELOMONOPOX LT204 epoxy resin – a special adhesive for temperature sensitive parts that gives full strength even at a curing temperature as low as 60°C.
H
eat-curing adhesives are used in many applications that require high strength and permanent resistance to environmental influences. In order to achieve these properties, the adhesive is
usually cured at temperatures between 100°C and 150°C. An application area where many temperature sensitive
materials are used is optical packaging. In this industry components are bonded to mini-cameras, actuators and infrared, as well as image or motion sensors for consumer electronics. The micro-optics of these assemblies are often covered by anti-reflection or filter coatings. Unlike most plastic lenses, these coatings are very sensitive and get damaged at elevated temperatures – the new DELOMONOPOX LT204 epoxy resin now makes it possible to bond these materials without any problems.
DELO says its DELOMONOPOX LT204 epoxy resin is a multi-purpose, one component adhesive, which can be processed within 48 hours at room temperature and has excellent adhesion to many plastics, including LCP, PA and PPS, as well as to metals and FR4 composites. It can be dispensed through needles with a diameter as small as 200µm, which are common in consumer electronics and enable finer structures. Curing is possible from 60°C, minimising the thermal stress and resulting in reduced warpage of the components bonded and fewer tensions within the package. In addition, DELO says its new adhesive helps the bonding process excel through low energy consumption and high profitability.
Panaro’s new waterproof case
Italian based Plastica Panaro has added the MAX235TH105 transparent box with see-through lid to its range of waterproof cases.
M
AX235TH105 is tiny and compact and has many of the same features as the company’s other MAX cases including being IP67 rated, as well as water and dust proof. The case also features a watertight seal around the lid; an automatic pressure release valve; easy to open double throw latches; load tested soft grip
handles; holes for double padlocking; stackable interlocking system; thick body material; extra fixing points; corrosion free nylon pins; a rectangular resin label space; as well as screen printing space on the lid. The see-through lid makes this case suitable for any application or product requiring a
translucent lid to show, present or simply see the product inside. The case comes in standard colours – black, orange or transparent – and has internal dimensions of 235mm x 180mm x 106mm.
