SECTOR GUIDE: WOODEN TOYS DKL

Wonderworld Toys offers an extensive range of wooden toys aimed at children aged between 18 months onwards. The company has a strict eco policy, which sees two trees planted for every one used in production.

New from the firm this year is the Wonder Trix

Tracks. The product features a maze of tricks and combinations available for children to mix and build. The Wonder Trix Tracks sets include the Spin

& Swirl, 2 Ways Flipper, Throw & Roll and Hammer Slammer, as well as an add on set. Wonderworld also has a series of educational

wooden toys ready to both delight and enlighten youngsters. The Rainbow Sound Blocks have already achieved bestselling status and help a child’s sensory development with blocks complete with varying shapes, sounds and colours. Elsewhere, the Peek-a-boo Ball is available in a CDU featuring green and pink colours, while the Wonder ABC Blocks encourage kids to make up stories and learn the alphabet.

The

Counting Ball is a pinball toy that aims to teach

counting, adding and

subtracting through a game that

sees users ping balls around a wooden platform encased in a Perspex case. This year has also seen the popular Mini

Vehicles range expand with three new models, the Mini Sightseeing Bus, the Mini Ambulance and the Mini Patrol Car. Each comes with functioning parts, a miniature driver and durable rubber wheels. For vehicles on a bigger scale, Wonderworld’s series of sit and ride toys will do the job, as well as help a child’s walking abilities. The Ride on Fire Engine and Recycling Truck

feature chucky plastic wheels and a storage compartment, while the Puffy Dragon ride on has easy to grip handle bars and a detachable plush dragon character. Wonderworld’s Role-Play series has also

embraced wood, with a Kitchen collection containing a Neo Cooking range of cooker, washing machine, sink and refrigerator, each sold separately. A Cooking Centre comes complete with a metal sink, clicking dials and opening doors. DKL also has an award-winning doll’s house in its portfolio with the Eco House, which picked up a Slow Toy Award in 2012 and Best Eco Toy award in 2011.

The House aims to educate children on household recycling with a series of figures and realistic models. 01604 678780
