SECTOR GUIDE: WOODEN TOYS MARBEL

Marbel’s range of wooden toys features high quality products from the likes of Brio and Hape.

Putting emphasis on the strength and feel

wooden toys have compared to their plastic counterparts, the company hopes that children will take to the Old Steam Engine (£7.99) and Hape Walk Along Puppy (£16.99).

Brio has 200 years experience of making

wooden toys, and the firm’s Railway Collection has remained a popular item in the sector. Elements range from the Steam Train Railway Set (SRP £34.99) to the Deluxe Railway Set in Tub (SRP £119.99). Elsewhere in Marbel’s selection is Hape’s Bamboo range.

The company maintains its own bamboo

forest, as well as sponsoring bamboo workshops for international designers to support the range. Hape products include the Mini Racer (£4.99), made partially from bamboo, to the best selling Discovery Space Centre (£99.99). 0845 6000 286
