Bee Smart takes first steps into wooden toy category


Ambitious new firm confident that toys in its first range will become ‘classics in the pre-school sector’ By Billy Langsworthy


NEW WOODEN toy company Bee Smart has outlined what the company stands for and where it wants to go to ToyNews.


The firm, which creates colourful, traditional wooden toys for pre-school children, is putting a focus on products that have an educational side, as well as provide an introduction for kids to music making. “Bee Smart recognises the importance of toys in a child's development and our quality range of innovative traditional wooden toys will make playtime even more exciting,” said Bee Smart founder Punam Malhotra. “Our innovative designs


will hold children's interest whilst enhancing hand and


eye co-ordination, fine motor skills and creativity. “Our aim is to create and


deliver clever, colourful toys for the under-fives, featuring unique designs and a practical edge. “We’re confident our first


range does exactly this by combining creative, fun play with storage and portability. Our toys are built to last, beautiful and will fast become known as ‘classics’ in the pre-school sector.” Despite being in its


infancy, the company has ambitious plans to expand next year and firmly establish itself as occupying a unique space within the market. “We want to continue


creating quality products unlike anything else available in the market that


children can play safely for fun and education,” Malhotra continued. “We also want to increase


our product representation across the UK and Europe, allowing consumers greater access to purchasing Bee Smart brand products for young children.” Bee Smart’s first range is made up of a Musical Xylophone Activity Toy with Shape Sorter, an owl-shaped Musical Instrument Set, a Portable Wooden Kitchen Set, a Musical Tambourine and a Musical Xylophone with Song Sheet. Each will be available from


early October. Bee Smart will be


unveiling a range of wooden role-play toys in early 2014.

LEGO DUPLO’S hero launch this year – The Number Train – has scooped four prestigious parenting awards since release. Recognised for its play
