SECTOR GUIDE: WOODEN TOYS JOHN CRANE
John Crane is expanding its line of traditional wooden toys this year with the Tidlo range from designer Stewart Betts. Joining the colourful range is the Tidlo Activity Walker, a product looking to appeal to children with colourful nature illustrations, spinning cage rattle, mirror and a mini abicus. Parents should also experience the same giddy sensation as their children thanks to a storage tray to help keep playtime as neat as possible. Elsewhere, the Create section
is welcoming a Height Adjustable Easel. The product comes with chalks, four plastic paint pots, a
paper roll and an eraser. It has a chalk board one side and a white board on the other. John Crane’s Pretend Play
category is also expanding thanks to the Country Play Kitchen. The product features a tall work surface, an oven and hob with clicking dials and a Belfast sink.
Completing the kitchen is a
storage cupboard, a clock and shelves for utensils including a plastic bowl, salt and pepper shakers and washing up liquid. Healthy eating is promoted with the Cutting Fruit & Veg Sets with chunky wooden pieces that hold together with Velcro, while
pet lovers can enjoy playing with the Wiggly Dog and Wiggly Cat toys. Finally, the latest new Tidlo addition is the Tidlington House. The three-storey doll’s house
has painted graphics, a detachable roof which reveals the attic and panels that can be reversed to double as a garden. 01604 774 949

TOBAR
Tobar has added several new products to its high quality wooden toys range this year. First up, the Wooden Transformbot has a similar design to the best selling Twist and
Lock Blocks and can be flexed to change from a robot into a car. Also new to the collection is the Wooden Abacus, a frame containing 100 beads. Elsewhere, wooden toys form an important part of Tobar's retro range, with products
like the Deluxe Pinball game and Bagatelle, which are both doing well. Retailers can draw attention to collections with Tobar's modern wooden display solution
for the pocket money range. The company believes it is perfect for any sized store thanks to its smart design and built-in wheels for manoeuvrability. Removable wooden storage bays make it easy for merchandisers to fill the unit up with the firm’s line of wooden toys.
0844 573 4299 ASOBI

Vilac to the UK and Ireland markets. The range from Vilac is bright and eye-catching and includes a pull toy range featuring a smiling dog with colourful wheels. 01628 200077
