The John Lewis Ipswich store is the Partnership’s first 100 percent LED store and the first to hit 10W/m2 for lighting. Delivering ground‐breaking energy savings, GE Lighting’s LEDs are significantly enhancing the retail experience for customers and creating a pleasant working environment for John Lewis staff.
The decision for John Lewis to move to energy efficient LED technology was motivated by its CSR goal to reduce energy consumption in its stores by 20 percent in 10 years but not without extensive research and the successful 18 month trial period. John Lewis partnered with GE Lighting for the trial of LED technology and for the final installation at its new Ipswich store using GE’s Infusion modules.
