A Day in the Life of Sarah Pavlou


We walk a day in the life of the incredibly inspirational Sarah Pavlou, Founder of the International Women in


Business (IWIB).


Being a Mother of two young boys my mornings invariably start with a vision of one or two sets of small sleepy eyes searching for the bathroom or eagerly wishing to climb in between Mum and Dad in the early hours of 4am; sandwiching their body in a horizontal fashion, successfully leaving me with approximately a 15cm platform for perching myself for the next few hours before being woken to the sounds of the Entertainer… my somewhat annoying alarm!


With all the intentions for a brisk morning walk, a glass of water with lemon and a relaxing shower, I am instead left with the first hour of all weekly mornings being performed on automatic pilot. As I tend to my


youngest milk bottle, leaving both children and father fast asleep, I often pop on the oven to rustle up a lunch for my children. Whilst in the midst of grilled chicken, rice and vegetables, I frantically scurry through a mountain of washing to seek those unbelievable socks for my children that go in the washing machine as a pair and are never to be seen a pair again.


In between showering and dressing my children with the magnificent support of my husband who is without doubt my ‘partner in crime’, I take rapid trips up and down the stairs to check the rice is cooking and not becoming a burnt mush. Teeth cleaned, hair groomed, all appropriately dressed, school


photograph signed for, school bags packed, laptop in case, coffee in hand, car keys found in less than 5 mins (a miracle for the most part) and mobile with securely locked keypad in my bag; we are ready to start our day which is quite simply a challenging but exciting task of continuous juggling; juggling the very things I love most, my work and my family. Working remotely, I have the benefit of being able to choose my work location which for the current period is in a quaint office in Nicosia, Cyprus, an old house conversion that over looks culture, history and art and is an inspiration to me everyday. The rest of my time can be spent in coffee shops when meeting with clients and
