Launches Green Cast Acrylic Recycled acrylic sheets


Amari Plastics, the leading supplier of plastic sheets, films, rods and tubes to the shop fitting, display and retail sectors is delighted to announce the extension of its range of Green Cast acrylic products manufactured by Madreperla Spa in Milan, Italy.


Green Cast is a unique proposition for all instore display requirements for the retailer who wants to help provide a more sustainable solution. Green Cast is manufactured from 100% recycled acrylic materials at the Madreperla plant in Italy. The scrap acrylic is collected from Northern Italy and Southern Germany by licensed recycling companies and is transported efficiently and economically in 20 Tonne loads to the Madreperla plant. Once there it is cleaned and sorted and then it is put through the unique and patented process for breaking the product back down to its constituent components where it can then be used to make fresh acrylic sheets. There are other recycled sheets available in the market but they have 2 distinct disadvantages compared to Green Cast:- • They are only made with a percentage of recycled material – usually no more than 40%. • They are visually not good products to see through as the clear grade has imperfections and a grey tint to the sheet. Green Cast is as crystal clear as any standard acrylic sheet and can be


processed in exactly the same way as virgin sheet. It can also be heated, polished, formed and printed in exactly the same way – it is essentially no different to virgin materials in either it’s performance or working qualities.
