Chem-Resist Chem-Resist makes thermoplastic tanks and designs and builds chemical storage tanks and installations. Clients include Thames Water. Chem-Resist has the in-house capability of producing the world’s largest corrosion resistant all-thermoplastic spiral-wound vertical cylindrical chemical storage tanks and vessels, the company says. Its storage tanks and vessels are manufactured in polypropylene and high-density polyethylene with diameters up to 4-metres and capacities up to 100cubic metres. Its thermoplastic chemical storage tanks and vessels provide an alternative to glass fibre reinforced and traditional lined metal vessels for the storage and processing of corrosive solutions, it says.


Circle Control


Design Systems Circle Control is an electrical contract company working in the water industry. It has NICEIC approval and is a member of the Achilles utilities vendor database. Its most recent projects have been with Yorkshire Water. It handles pumping station refurbishment at Harrogate South waste and water treatment works, a Laing O’Rourke scheme. It also handled batch works in Yorkshire for JN Bentley and ETM in Yorkshire. This is an ongoing scheme throughout AMP5 covering 250 pumping stations. The work mostly consists of panel, pump and instrument changes


to existing kiosks or pumping stations but in some cases new installations. Up to December 2012 it completed approximately 80 of these refurbishments. Current work includes Esholt water and waste water treatment works, a MGJV and Veolia Water combined scheme. It is the largest scheme Circle has undertaken with a combined contract value of £1m and due for completion in July 2013.


Dawson-WAM Dawson-Wam is a civil engineering and piling contractor operating in the UK and Ireland handling projects from £10k to £20m. It has built small and large scale waste water and clean water treatment facilities. Projects include the


Ballynacor Sludge Dewatering Plant in Craigavon, Co. Armagh, a joint venture design and build project with VATech Wabag UK. It also handled the Culmore Waste Water Treatment Works, Culmore, Co.Londonderry, a joint venture design and build project with Black & Veatch Contracting. Other projects include the Pennyburn Pumping Station, Pennyburn, Londonderry, a new pumping station incorporating the pump shaft, the control building, and the outfall into Lough Foyle.DCT Civil Engineering


DCT Civil Engineering is a civil engineering contractor working in water and sewerage well as other sectors. It has specialist capabilities for tunnelling and shaft construction. “We are a ‘contractor of choice’ for many clients faced with technically difficult tunnelled crossings of road, rail and watercourses,” it says. In 1986, DCT acquired Buckton Contractors and in 2006 the Frameworks and Regions divisions of Dew Construction. Recent projects include Severn Trent Water AMP4 - Sewerage Framework, Inverary Sewer Renewal, United Utilities Framework - Glossop Year 5 UIDs, Mab Lane, Croxteth - DG5 Flood Alleviation Project, and Carlisle Flood Alleviation Works.
