WHAT’S NEW: RUSSELL Four big new stories from Russell
There’s a lot going on at Russell for the New Year, with four completely new stories: n New emphasis on our T shirt range with the launch of our 155M&F Slim T n Introduction of our new Authentic Sweathshirt range n Innovative addition to our softshell range (think fleece and traditional softshell hybrid) n Streamlined colour palette making it easier to create great team uniforms
New 155 M&F Slim T 2013 is a big year for Russell T shirts. With the introduction of our new 155M&F Slim T, and the increasing benefits offered via our in-house Moroccan manufacturing facility (stock availability, supply lead time, as well of course, as top quality production), we think itʼs time to take another look at the Russell T shirt range. The 155 Slim T is slim – but not TOO tight. The 155 Ts are 100% ringspun cotton, 145 gram fabric weight and constructed with attention to detail – great neck shape (and neck tape), a truly fantastic fit (and donʼt just take our word for it) with extra length in the body – and an extensive contemporary colour palette. The 155M will be available from S to 2XL and the 155F from XS to XL. Russell Ts – a rounded choice of high quality T shirts. And with the new 155M&F an even more convincing range!
Russell IS sweats Weʼre breathing new life into our Sweatshirt range. Some styles will leave the range, some styles are being updated, and we are delighted to add our new Authentic range of sweats. For our new Authentic Sweatshirt range weʼve chosen a cotton rich 3 layer fabric, with 80% combed cotton and 20% polyester – a higher performing fabric that offers a fuller, more substantial handfeel.
There are three styles in the range: crew neck (262), hooded sweat (265) and zipped hooded sweat (266). Each of the styles has a very contemporary look; wider hem construction and wider, more comfortable cuffs; slimmer shoulders and leaner arms; herringbone neck tape, coverseaming on armholes, cuffs and hems and flat, chunky drawcords on the hoodies. Each style comes is sizes XS to 3XL with a contemporary colour palette. And for 2013 weʼve also given the 575 hoodie a major design overhaul, including a new shape and chunky, flat drawcord and significantly extended colour palette which together create the next generation of an old favourite.
SmartSoftShell
Our new SmartSoftshell jackets and gilets (040M&F, 041M&F) are a new kind of softshell, targeting a new market and opening up new opportunities. Softshell jackets as we know them today are outdoor garments made from a 3 layer fabric with a membrane that ensures that rain cannot get through the fabric, whilst offering reasonable breathability.
The SmartSoftshell is a 2 layer softshell (without the membrane), designed to be worn predominantly indoors, in areas that require protection against wind and chill, and to offer real wearer comfort – all the comfort and breathability of a fleece combined with more of the smartness and weather protection of a traditional softshell (think supermarket checkout teams). Available in Menʼs and Ladiesʼ jackets and gilets the range comes in sizes XS-3XL and in a choice of black, classic red, French navy and convoy grey.
A streamlined colour palette
For 2013, therefore, weʼve cleaned up our colour ranges for core products. Weʼve deleted colours which were only available in a few or just one style and rather than add new colours we have extended the range of garments

available in our core colours. And for our more promotional garments weʼve created a more contemporary colour palette – you can now take our 150 and 155 T shirts, our 569 polos and the 575 hoodie and have them all in the same, extended variety of colours.
Put simply, our improved colour concept will make it easier to create great team outfits for work and leisure. n For further information on the range, visit
