New business ideas will take off at FESPA Fabric


F


ESPA Fabric 2013 returns for its fourth year. The ʻshow-within-a- showʼ will be part of FESPA 2013 which takes place at the ExCeL London (June 25-29), providing print service providers (PSPs) with a place to visit for the latest news, products, innovations and trends within apparel print. “FESPA Fabric is set to take garment printers and decorators on an inspiring journey. The combination of exhibitor and educational content will invigorate and provide the motivation to make new business ideas take off,” comments Lynda Sutton, Marketing Manager, FESPA. Visitors will benefit from both practical and theoretical sessions including workshops, seminars and live demonstrations. There will also be a host of networking opportunities with industry peers, allowing printers to gain access to some of the biggest brands in promo, sportswear and garment printing. Printers, textile print professionals, retailers


and apparel brands will be able to meet with key industry exhibitors and experience a broad spectrum of state-of-the-art machinery, techniques, applications and solutions at the show. With a floor space of approximately 1,200m2, FESPA Fabric will cover digital direct- to-garment, screen printing, embroidery, promotional products and other garment decoration processes. New to FESPA Fabric 2013 is the Promotional Products Business Academy (PPBA), which is being delivered through a partnership between FESPA and the European promotional products show organiser CTCO. The PPBA aims to bring the business opportunity of the promotional products market segment to the forefront of printersʼ minds and is ideal for visitors looking to expand their business. The PPBA at FESPA Fabric 2013 will offer an in-depth market-entry brief, case studies from successful businesses and the opportunity to connect with wholesale promotional products suppliers. Building on the past successes of Charlieʼs Corner, Charlie will this year be joined by other leaders in the garment community in the Pilotʼs Briefing Zone. The Pilotʼs Briefing Zone will offer insight into advanced garment design and decoration techniques via presentations and hands-on workshop sessions.

Lintec targets Italian market

pressure-sensitive coated film products for durable label applications and screen/digital solutions, has appointed Alberto Bonfanti (above), as sales manager for Italy to strengthen its presence in the Italian market. In his new role, Alberto will be tasked with servicing and growing the company's growing label and glazing enhancement ranges for the whole of Italy. CPS is leading the way to sustainable printing C


PS has shown the way forward to a more sustainable screen printing industry by sharing its developments and discoveries at EcoPrint 2012, which took place in Berlin during September. CPS, the technology pioneers in safer and more environmentally friendly screen chemicals, presented a range of solutions and seminars at the event, which focused on building sustainability in the printing trade.


Among the innovative products showcased at the event was CPS Screen Opener 511, a hazard-label-free, fast- evaporating on-press screen cleaner that can deal with difficult to clean industrial and textile screen inks and complies with the latest EU directives for a flash point above 400C. Also on show was CPS Bio Plus Screen Wash G, which delivers high

cleaning performance with a low toxicity to aquatic life and is approved to the strictest standards of the Danish Environmental Protection Agency. CPS also offered advice to help printers achieve sustainable, cost-effective printing in the form of a presentation by CPS commercial manager Simon Jones. The seminar debunked the myth that safer products are either less effective or more expensive than traditional cleaning products and explained how better alternatives to petrochemical derivatives can result in more cost-effective production processes. “CPSʼs role in reducing costs for screen printers is to reduce their reliance on hydrocarbon-based cleaners,” Simon explained, “and by finding alternative sustainable sources – using concentrates, for example – we can actually reduce costs


for printers.” CPS has led the way in the


environmentally progressive manufacture of screen printing solutions since the company was launched in 1982. The company was the first in the world to market a range of hazard label-free solutions for pre and post press screen applications and has remained a leader in the sector.
