WHAT’S NEW: FDM One year on, and FDM is growing L

ooking back over the last 12 months since FDMʼs launch at Printwear & Promotion LIVE 2012, itʼs easy to see why their products have been an instant success. With quality and performance that stands out above the crowd

itʼs no wonder that they are surely becoming a favourite option in the UK market. Which explains why, in their first year they have already added an extra colour in the Original Hoodie together with three brand new products: the Tagless Hoodie and the ever popular adult and junior Varsity Jackets. At the outset, the company promised to listen to their customers and develop products that the market wants and this philosophy hasnʼt changed when it comes to their next new additions. So much so, that all customers are being given the chance to have their say before any decisions are made! Visit us on stand H54 at Printwear & Promotion LIVE (Hall 12, NEC, Birmingham February 24-26) where you will be able to see samples of the proposed additions to the FDM range and let the team know what you would like to see! To keep you going in the meantime though, FDM do have some exciting new colour additions to their existing products. The Junior Hoodie palette has been extended and is now available in the same great 21 colours as the adult Original Hoodie. All 11 new colours are in stock and available meaning that you can now order each colour from a 3-4yrs right up to a XXL (or XXXL for navy, black and heather grey).

On top of this, there are also three fantastic new colour combinations for the adult and junior Varsity Jackets which are navy/heather grey, burgundy/heather grey and purple/white. These will all be available mid-January.

WHAT’S NEW: GRAPHTEC Outstanding performance from new plotter/cutters D

escribed by Phil Kneale, director of Graphtec GB as “the most significant machine upgrade to have taken place in the past decade”, the new CE6000 series of plotter/cutters is destined to set a new level of performance in relation to its low cost that would be difficult to match by any similarly positioned machine currently available.

Combining all of the basic high-performance capabilities of the hugely successful CE5000 series that it now replaces, the

CE6000 offers a host of advanced production features as well as free Graphtec Studio cutting design software at a price that will be universally welcomed by the print wear and promotional products market. Significantly, the CE6000 offers a much wider and longer-length cutting area capability, a dramatically increased cutting speed of up to 900mm/sec and a maximum cutting force of 500gf by comparison with those of the CE5000 machine. Available in three models and with cutting widths ranging from 15 to 48 inches to accommodate a wide range of different applications, the CE6000-60 version is the one best suited to the printwear and promotional products sector, enabling a wider than normal range of materials (including flock and flex) to be processed more efficiently.

The CE6000-60, in common with all Graphtec cutters, also features the latest ARMS 5.0 (Advanced Registration Mark Sensing) system. This offers unparalleled media plotting and cutting accuracy via four-point rather than the traditional three- point registration and makes the cutter particularly ideal for print- and-cut sublimation images.

STAR PERFORMER: Graphtec’s new CE6000 is packed with advanced features.

Other key enhancements include an automatic panelling function for longer-length cutting and tracking requirements, a choice of operating modes to complement the userʼs skill levels and a range of different tool condition settings. The machine also features an enhanced sorting facility to minimise the amount of movement in the media feed function that leads to shorter cutting times and an LCD-inspired large-type easy-to-understand and navigate machine operating VDU panel. The CE6000-60 cutter is available from Graphtec GB authorised resellers. n For more information visit www.graphtecgb.co.uk or telephone 01978 666700.
