international rugby player at 7ft, and Britain's tallest athlete. He won 11 Scotland caps between 2000 and 2002 and played for the Newcastle Falcons and Northampton Saints.
Having retired following a troublesome knee injury, Richard launched Orion Teamwear, together with his brother, Mark Whiteley. Said Richard: “We came up with a range for 57 sports in total, but we never held stock. The Orion Collection – exclusively available from Blue Max Banner – came out of a chance meeting with David
Fawcus (Blue Maxʼs founder) and Nigel Plenderleith (the managing director) at the Printwear & Promotion Show. “Out of that came an exciting capsule range of eight garments. We now do all of the bespoke work and Blue Max Banner offer the capsule range from stock. And we think its going to fly this year.” Made from high
performance, technical fabrics the Orion Collection is durable and affordable. Each item is available in three colours and in sizes for children and adults.
The range comprises a Reversible Rugby Shirt, Polo Shirt, Splash Top, Track Suit Pants, Games Shorts, Skort, Hooded Sweatshirt and T shirt. The Orion collection will sit alongside Blue Max Bannerʼs existing sportswear range which is marketed under the Medallion brand.

Bespoke trims are available and it washes as 30C.”
Continues Andrew: “It is fully fashioned and embroiders very well. Itʼs ideal for anyone who wants a bespoke trim.” The new style is a result of customer feedback and has been 18 months in development. Said Andrew: “Feedback has helped us progress it to the point where we are very confident that we are bringing a
