Chisholm Trail Roundup The Chisholm Trail Roundup is held

every year the fi rst Saturday in June. The one-day festival provides great fun for those interested in Living History. The peak years of the Chisholm Trail were from 1867 to 1887. After the Civil War the Northern United States was hungry for beef and a trail was carved from Texas to various points in Kansas. The trail was named after Jesse Chisholm.

The Living History is performed in a

historic replica of a western town. If you would like to see life before 1887 visit the Living History part of the Roundup. Gunfi ghters, Civil War re-enactments, cannon fi re, covered wagons, a chicken scramble, pie eating contests, Musicians, a one-room schoolhouse, campfi res and settlements are plentiful.

If the modern day is

your preference you will fi nd musical groups,

children’s activities and much more. You will experience things such as pony rides, petting zoo, train rides, clowns and face painting, crafts, fi shing, food, live country music, craft show and more!

The event

is held at the Kirkpatrick Family Farm near the intersection

Vandament and Garth
