responds to the needs of the community by offering programs for individuals of all ages throughout the entire calendar year. This department is instrumental in the cooperative interaction between the school system and the business community. The “Open Door” day care program, offered by Yukon Community Education, is available for students at all Yukon elementary schools. Yukon Middle School currently offers an after-school program for all 6-8th grade students called Route 333. This program provides interactive sessions, homework help, tutoring, and social development for all middle school students for a nominal charge.

John Nail Yukon Public Schools Foundation


for Excellence, Inc., founded in 1991, has presented over $400,000 for classroom grants to Yukon teachers. The Foundation is a non-profi t community organization whose purpose is to secure and distribute contributions from individuals, corporations, and foundations for the academic benefi t of students in Yukon Public Schools.


School Community Council meets


monthly for the sole purpose of facilitating communications between the community and educators. The public is invited to attend, hear the latest educational developments, ask questions, and submit suggestions.

The curriculum is arranged to benefi t the students academically and prepare them effectively for advanced education or the work force.
